Etienne figures out crawling !

With no direct help or input the little guy just got up on his knees and started crawling. I suspect that blisters and calluses that formed on his feet and toes from the odd scoot he had been using to get around got to him. We were so surprised and he has now been doing it regularly, no looking back now…

He has also decided that he likes to climb the stairs.

The other day he climbed his way from the basement to the 2nd floor stopping to catch his breath on each floor and landing. His forward and upward motion is great and the only risk of falling down is when he stops and looks around.

The next few months are going to be interesting….

First Swim

Ok, so the title is a bit misleading, the swimming is probably exaggerated but none the less, Etienne was in his summer swimming gear in a pool with water - that is about as close to swimming as what he will get for quite a few years. As you can tell he loved it ! By comparison, Cezanne’s first equivalent swim outside was at the start of May 2007

Now there are 2 (teeth !)

Etienne now has 2 teeth - both front bottom teeth are now fully visible…

He does not seem to be as bad as Cezanne was ( she would throw up for 2 or 3 days before cutting a tooth ). We just hope this continues…

Etienne’s First Tooth !

Home again !

Monday evening at dinner we discovered that Etienne had cut his first tooth, front bottom left showing through the gum.

6 Months !

We made it ! 6 months !

The milestone at 6 months for Etienne is his ability to sit unsupported. Oh and also he can eat a bowl of cereal and 3 - 4 oz. of food (fruit or vegetable) in less than 5 minutes…

We took some photos in the basement today to mark the 6 month milestone.
Etienne is generally a very happy baby and growing very quickly. His big sister loves him very much ( almost too much sometimes ).

“Solid” Food First

Valentines Day - but for Etienne it was his first “solid” food meal. We took some pictures and it made us think back to the many photos I took of Cezanne in her eating seat, mainly because it was the one place she would sit still long enough to take her picture…

I just love this boy’s eyes…
