Yet another day in the crapped quarters of the hotel as we continue to wait for final confirmation and closing on the house…

What made this day special was that it was Cezanne’s 5th Birthday and we made the most of it by celebrating with cupcakes after dinner.

We arrived in California on June 6th and after being taken care of by a work friend who fetched us from the airport and offered to loan us a spare car for as long as we needed it we started to settle in and wait to hear about the offer we had made on a house… Tick Tock Tick Tock…

After a week in the hotel we had to get out and do something. Based on a recommendation from another colleague we drove 70 miles south to Gilroy and spent the day at a horticultural theme park for young kids. Cezanne had a great time, Etienne was a little uncertain on some of the rides that he had to ride alone, but all in all it was a good day and the kids enjoyed getting out of the hotel and getting to run around.

On our last day in Illinois we decided to visit the Brookfield Zoo one last time with our dear friends the Bassons. The kids had a great time running wild from one habitat to the next. The kids all behaved beautifully and this made the day really enjoyable for all. This is a great zoo and we have enjoyed each visit over the years.

Etienne was a proud yet oblivious younger brother at Cezanne graduation. He did clap and cheer for her at the end, she has taught him well just how to cheer and clap.

For Etienne the after party was the real treat - free snacks and new toys and other kids to play with ! He seems so ready to just join in it seems unfair knowing he is still quite a long way from going to his own little school program. We will need to find him something as soon as Cezanne starts Kindergarten in California…
